Mr. Teodhore S. Lewand
Ted is a New Yorker who first came to Thailand 17
years ago. Upon graduating from New York University
with a Masters Degree in Music Composition,he began
teaching at NYU and worked as a sideman in several
bands, including a stint with Inner City recording
artists "Dry Jack", a jazz/rock fusion group. His own
fusion group "Whippets" also performed extensively
during this period. While in New York and later on
return trips home, Ted also studied with the great
guitarist Bill Conners of Chick Corea's "Return to
Forever" fame. In 1991 he combined his interests in
ethnomusicology with a love for Asian culture by
moving to Thailand. There he began working with various
Thai and international artists as a composer and
sideman,leading to projects with
Sony, Warner, EMI, Nittitad and Grammy record
labels. Presently he teaches music at Assumption
University (ABAC) and Silaprakorn University,and
continues a busy schedule of recording, composing, and
touring.
