Mina Yordanova Ivanova

Piano and Ear Training


Mina. Yordanova  Ivanova currently works on her PhD dissertation in The Music Department  of  New Bulgarian University. She is a Master of Arts in Piano and Chamber Music. She has graduated with honors the National in School of Music <<Lyubomi Pipkov>>— Sofia, the Bulgarian State Academy of Music <<Pancho Vladigerov>> — Sofia, and a Master course of studies in it.

Her teachers are Mrs. Anna Ilievska /National School of Music/, Prof. Nikolay Evrov /Bulgarian State Academy of Music, Sydney Conservatorium/, Prof. Ema Bozhinova /Bulgarian State Academy/ and Prof. Lyuba Encheva / Bulgarian State Academy, Musashino Academy, Tokyo/. Mina Ivanova has also been working with Prof. Ludwig Hoffmann /Munich/, selected as an active participant in his class at the International Musical Seminar in Weimar, Germany.

She visited the Mannes College in New York and Sydney Conservatorium. She was invited as a member of the jury of Concours Musical de France in Paris, as well as other competitions in Bulgaria, Thailand, etc.Mina Ivanova also have been invited for Master-Courses, performances and musical forums in Tokaidaigaku-Japan (She is a member-founder of Tokaidosokai Association in Bulgaria), South-Western University "Neofit Rilski"-Bulgaria, "Stadia"-Finland, ”Chulalongkorn” University-Bangkok, Hanoi Conservatory-Vietnam, "Yarmouk" University, The Academy of Music-in Jordan  and another musical Institutions in Thailand, Greece, Serbia and Italy. Recently M.Y. Ivanova  established creative contacts with  "Birzeit" University -The Conservatory "Edward Said", “Al-Quds" University and “Yamaha-School” in  The Palestinian Territories (The West Bank).

 Mina Y. Ivanova was awarded the pedagogical title <<Teacher with First Degree qualification>> by the Institute for Improving Teachers’ Qualification in the main State Bulgarian University — Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. M. Y. Ivanova is awarded as the best Piano teacher of Yamaha–School of Thailand in the Yamaha Thailand Music Festival–2007.

Mina  Ivanova has been teaching for many years her professional experience and calling as a musician and pedagogue of her students from the National School of Music <<Lyubomir Pipkov>> — Sofia, some of whom are winners of prizes from Bulgarian and international competitions. Her students continue their successful musical career and education in elite educational institutions in Bulgaria and around the world.

Mina Y. Ivanova is a prize–winner of prices and bearer of insignias of honor from national and international competitions — <<Svetoslav Obretenov>>-Bulgaria, winner of <<Citta' di Salerno>> — Italy, Concours Musical de France — First Accessit, estimated as the best Piano performer by the audience of The International Music Festival–Teesside, UK.Mina Y. Ivanova has given concerts in Bulgaria, Italy, Hungary, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Finland, Jordan, etc. She is also distinguished as a soloist and a participant in chamber ensembles and as an accompanier. She has a published CD .Her performances and interviews are distributed through the media in Bulgaria, for the Bulgarian Community in US and abroad. The eminent Japanese composer Yuyama Akira has included a photo of Mina Ivanova in his autobiographic book” Life is a Rondo” (“Jinsei wa Rondo”).In December 2005 she dedicated a piano recital in Assumption University, Bangkok,  “In Memoriam”  to  the Victims of Tsunami disaster.

The repertoire of the pianist comprises a wide range of works from the Baroque to Jazz. A considerable part of it comprises the Bulgarian music and works of the different national schools.Mina Ivanova herself has written materials, published in musical issues. She was elected as a Vice–President of Franz Shubert Society in Bulgaria. Mina Ivanova is a polyglot — she uses the main European and several Asian languages.

After a recital in Bangkok, dedicated of the Anniversary of H. M. Queen Sirikit, from 2005 Mina Ivanova was invited as a full–time lecturer in the Department of Music Business, School of Music, in Assumption University — the International University of Thailand, Bangkok.
