Dr. Mina Yordanova Ivanova

Mina Ivanova is Ph.D. in Music Studies and Music Art of New Bulgarian University - www. nbu. bg, and the first musician in Europe, defended such a doctorate, created in collaboration with University of Yale and New Bulgarian University. She has graduated her Doctoral Degree with honors, as well as The Master and Bachelor Degrees in Piano and Chamber music in the Bulgarian State Academy of Music “PanchoVladigerov — Sofia, Bulgaria, and the National School of Music “LyubomirPipkov-Sofia, asTeacher with First Degree Qualification”, conferred by the Institute for the Improvement of Lecturers at the main Bulgarian Sofia University “St. KlimentOhridski”.

Mina Ivanova’s teachers were Mrs. Anna Ilievska /National School of Music/, Prof. Nikolay Evrov /Bulgarian State Academy of Music, Sydney Conservatorium/, Prof. EmaBozhinova /Bulgarian State Academy/,Prof. LyubaEncheva / Bulgarian State Academy, Musashino Academy, Tokyo/. She was selected by Prof. Ludwig Hoffmann /Munich Conservatory/ in his Master-Class at International Musical Seminars /HochschulefürMusikFranz Liszt, Weimar, Germany/, and worked under the guidance of Prof. Milena Mollova /Chairperson of Dep. “Music”, NBU/, Prof. D.Sc. DimitarHristov/former Dir. of UNESCO Music Section/, Prof. Dr. DimitarTzanev/Rector of Bulgarian State Academy of MusicPanchoVladigerov/, and other distinguished artists.

Dr. Mina Ivanova is a member of the Union of the Scientists in Bulgaria. She is a polyglot, using mainstream world languages.She is an author of publications, like the book “Music and Holism”(2013, Sofia, Bulgaria), and has participations in international scientific conferences with research presentations, as: “The Art of the Scales in the Methodology of Piano Education” (INTE- 2015, Barcelona, Spain), in SMEI ( 2015 Annual Conference , DIT, Dublin, Ireland), “Relevance between Concept and Means in Pianism” ( INTE-2016, Vienna, Austria),” Importance of the Piano Repertoire and the Attitude towards its Formation - Approach, Figuration, Options “ (XV Hawaii International Conference on Education-2017, Honolulu, USA), “Vision about Teaching Methodology” (ICLEL-2017, Escola Superior de Educação, Porto, Portugal).

Mina Y. Ivanova is a prize–winner and bearer of insignias of honor from National and International Piano Competitions: “Svetoslav Obretenov”-Bulgaria, Winner of “Citta' di Salerno” — Italy, First Accessit -Concours Musical de France, Paris, Audience Rankings best Performer in the International Music Festival Teesside, UK. She held recitals and concerts with orchestra in Bulgaria, Italy, Hungary, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Finland, Jordan, Singapore, China, Greece, Spain, Lebanon, Egypt, etc. She also acts as distinguished as a chamber musician andaccompanist. Mina Ivanova has releasedCDs and DVDs as well withmore than 150 liverecordson her YouTube Channel www.youtube.com/yurdanic, ranked among the first 50 in Russian Weekly Top 100 Music Videos. Her performances and interviews are broadcasted in Bulgaria and abroad.The repertoire of the pianist comprises a wide range of works from Baroque to Jazz.

Dr. Mina Ivanova is teaching for many years, preparing hundreds students for musical career as performers, pedagogues, musicologists. She is awarded as the best Piano Teacher of Thailand in the Yamaha Thailand Music Festival–2007. Mina Ivanova contributed with Lecture and Master Classes to The First Bangkok International Pedagogical Symposium in Goethe Institut, Thailand, 2009. She held Master-Classes, Work-Shops and forums participations in South-Western University “NeofitRilski”- Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, KolarcevNarodniUniversitet –Belgrade, Serbia, “Stadia”-Helsinki,Finland, “Chulalongkorn” University, Goethe Institut-Bangkok, Thailand, Hanoi Conservatory-Vietnam, “Yarmouk” University-Irbid and The Academy of Music-Amman, Jordan,Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music, Beirut, Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, Lebanon, Shi JiaZhuan Music Conservatory-China, and other musical Institutions in Thailand, Greece, Italy, as aguest of Mannes College, New York City, USA,Sydney Conservatorium, Australia, the National Conservatory “Edward Said” ,Birzeit” University and “Yamaha-School” - Ramallah, “Al-Quds” University of East Jerusalem, Palestinian Authority, etc.

Mina Ivanova was a Jury Memberof Concours Musical de France, Paris and other competitions in Bulgaria, L. van Beethoven International Piano Competition at Goethe Institut-Bangkok, Thailand. Also Vice-President of Franz

Shubert Society in Bulgaria, co-founder and Vice-President of Bulgarian-Vietnam Friendship Association, Bulgaria-Nusantara-Indonesia and Tokai Dosokai, Japan in Bulgaria.The prominent Japanese composer Yuyama Akira mentioned her with picture in his autobiography “Jinsei-wa Rondo” (“The Life is Rondo”).Recently she became a member of EAS-European Association for Music in Schools.

In 2004 in Honor of the Anniversary of H. M. Queen Sirikit of Thailand, Mina Ivanova gave a Piano-Recital in Bangkok.Since 2005 she was invited as a Full-Time Instructor at Assumption University of Thailand - www.au.edu.

Mina Ivanova is currently aSenior Faculty Member of AU School of Music, Department of Music Performance.
